Recent Progress and Prospects in Liquid Cooling Thermal Management System for Lithium-Ion Batteries

The performance of lithium-ion batteries is closely related to temperature, and much attention has been paid their thermal safety. With the increasing application battery, higher requirements are put forward for battery management systems. Compared with other cooling methods, liquid an efficient method, which can control maximum temperature difference within acceptable range. This article reviews latest research in systems from perspective indirect direct cooling. Firstly, different coolants compared. part analyzes advantages disadvantages channels system structures. Direct summarizes systems’ differences effectiveness energy consumption. Then, combination cooling, air phase change materials, heat pipes examined. Later, connection between heating functions considered. In addition, a safety perspective, it found that effectively manage runaway. Finally, some problems forward, summary outlook given.
